Announcement

Today, LGM announced they have joined the UN Global Compact initiative — a voluntary leadership platform for the development, implementation, and disclosure of responsible business practices. With this announcement, LGM joins thousands of other companies globally who are committed to taking responsible business action for a better world.

The UN Global Compact is an organization that calls to companies worldwide to align their operations and strategies on Ten Principles in the areas of human rights, labour, environment, and anti-corruption and asks them to be accountable for their impact on the world by measuring Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The UN Global Compact Network Canada acts as an extension of the worldwide entity and works specifically with Canadian companies as they look to uphold the Ten Principles and SDGs.

“In joining the UN Global Compact Network Canada, we demonstrate our commitment to living our Social Purpose. For LGM, aligning to the Ten Principles outlined by the Network represents an opportunity to make meaningful change,” says Drew Collier, President and CEO of LGM. “Businesses have a responsibility to leverage their scale and influence to bring about a positive change in the world,” says Collier. “By working at common goals as a Network, we have far more power to enact change than individual companies alone,” he concluded.

The UN Global Compact enables companies to build strength in numbers, aligning them for the greater good. UN Global Compact members work to:

  • Drive impact on specific goals, where businesses have an outsized effect on the outcome
  • Scale ambitious action through 69+ Local Networks and global multi-stakeholder network
  • Make measurable progress and communicate it through a trusted reporting framework

In 2020, LGM announced their Social Purpose: To Accelerate Responsible Mobility for All. The firm believes that UN Global Compact Network Canada will be a catalyst in helping them achieve this purpose in the years to come.
