Press Releases

Vancouver, BC – LGM Financial Services Inc. (LGM) announced today that it has released its first Communication on Progress (COP) report as a participant of the UN Global Compact Network Canada, a branch of one of the world’s largest corporate sustainability initiatives. The CoP report enables LGM to benchmark and continuously track its progress in advancing the Ten Principles and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the UN Global Compact on human rights, labour, environment, and anti-corruption.

LGM joined the UN Global Compact Network Canada in April 2023 as part of its commitment to being a responsible business and a good force in society. By participating in the initiative, LGM pledges to align its strategies and operations with the universal principles and plans to complete a CoP annually, reporting on actions and progress.

Drew Collier, President and CEO of LGM, expressed “LGM is committed to driving positive change, and we are appreciative of the UN Global Compact Network for the framework it’s created to help businesses move the needle on the SDGs. We look forward to continuing this journey, measuring and reporting on our progress, and aligning with global organizations who share an intrinsic value to do the right thing.”

Jen Brundage, Manager, Engagement at UN Global Compact Network Canada, congratulated LGM on completing its first CoP report. “Congratulations, LGM, on advancing the Global Goals, and embedding ethical and sustainable business practices into your business framework. I look forward to your continued action, and congratulations on your first Communication on Progress.”

Involving future generations

When taking on their first COP, LGM engaged the future generation of sustainability leaders by involving students from the British Columbia Institute of Technology’s (BCIT) Sustainable Business Leadership program in the process. LGM collaborated with students to analyze and provide recommendations on how the firm can further align its practices with the Ten Principles and SDGs. The project enabled the students to apply their skills and knowledge to a real-world case study.

Adrienne Petersohn, Instructor at BCIT, extended her congratulations to the students and LGM for their professional collaboration. “Through our Sustainable Business Leadership program, we develop students to be thought leaders and change agents in the area of sustainability. In partnering with supportive employers like LGM, we ensure graduates are equipped to kick-start their professional journey to enact positive change.”

By joining this global movement, LGM reaffirms its Social Purpose and commitment to being a responsible business. LGM will continue to work with its stakeholders, partners, and customers to create a more sustainable and inclusive world.
